How to set up Jika rig / BackLash Staff Hashimoto

What you need :

・Hook
(The size of the bait you want to rig up determines the size of the hook.)

 

・Sinker
(If you need high snagless ability, choose a stick-style Drop-shot sinker.)

 

・Split ring(Size : #1～#2)

 

・Swivel(Heavy duty swivel is preferred.)

 

・Soft plastic bait(Use the bait what you want.)

●I’ll use the soft plastic bait “Geecrack / Leaf Shrimp” to explain. I chose a hook 2/0.
●Hook with a ring such as Zappu / Ring de Pile Driver is very convenient to use.

 
●If you use a straight worm, choose a smaller gape hook.The hook fits neatly into the worm. It reduces chances of snagging and will swim smoothly in weedy areas.

 

★ Steps to set up your own Jika rig.

1 : Attach the split ring to the eye of the hook.(If the split ring is too big, it won’t be free to move.Choose the right size.)

 

2 : Attach the swivel to the split ring.

 

3 : Attach the sinker to the split ring.

▲ Attach them in the correct order.(See the pictures.)

 

4 : Set the worm and tie fishing line to the swivel.

 

Of course, you can buy Jika rig with a lead sinker, but Tungsten sinker is heavier than lead sinker and your own Jika rig can be more compact.
Also Tungsten sinker is harder than lead sinker, so you can feel the movement of the lure well.

Making your own Jika rig makes fishing even more enjoyable!
